When we last checked in with Rod Mickley, it was to announce his collaboration with the Island View Cottages. Since then, Rod has surpassed any and every expectation, creating a room that will quickly become a resident favorite. Rod has found a way to take his cottage and elevate it, crafting a look and design that is both upscale and comfortable all in one.
The Journey Begins:
As you take this tour, pay close attention to the room’s beautiful aesthetic, and imagine yourself staying here for a weekend getaway.
A few things to remember: Rod had a difficult space to transform, and yet he navigated it so skillfully that each part of his cottage seamlessly flows together, giving the Island View Community something truly special when they stay here. The decor is inspired by the fishing in the Sebastian area, and his entire cottage is adorned with fishing hooks, knots, and paraphernalia beautifully presented on the walls, counter-tops and table-tops. In wanting to honor the culture of the area, Rod created quite the immersive experience for guests of the Island View Cottage. He even has an ornate Marlin waiting to greet you when you enter.
